The Champlain Valley Chorus is thrilled to welcome back,
Mrs. Cherie LaDuke
Cherie has been harmonizing barbershop since 2003; it was captivating for her from the first rehearsal. Originally a tenor, Cherie realized that singing harmony was okay, but the melody was where the music struck a chord. Moving to the lead voice, Cherie found her happy place for 15+ years. Since 2021, Cherie has found her home in barbershop, singing bass in her Regional Champion Quartet, Illuminate.
In November 2024, Cherie was approached by Champlain Valley Chorus to direct their 8-week Holiday Singsation event. It was so fun, she decided to stay on as their director and is looking forward to taking them to contest on May!!
“Being the director of Champlain Valley has been a very worthwhile experience. I have seen several guests visit our chorus, and added new members to the chorus. It is fun being back in front of this group and watching their skills build each week! It has been an exhilarating time! Hopefully the ladies have enjoyed it as much as I have!”
Cherie is a middle-high school music teacher and has had fun exposing her students to barbershop music and the ringing of chords. Coming back to Champlain Valley Chorus has been a lot of fun for Cherie. She is really enjoying the sisterhood and community that the barbershop world offers!!
